Lou Brutus Bio (click to expand / collapse)
Lou Brutus was born (on probation) in the Garden Spot of the Garden State Newark NJ, a city known for its diverse ethnic community, fiery race riots, and high number of prostitutes with STD's. His father, a dyslexic who was fortunately named "Dad," moved the Brutus clan from the crumbling inner city to the tiny farming community of Englishtown NJ where young LB learned about nature, cow tipping, and forest fires at a tender age.
Before his tenth birthday little Lou's pea brain had been mutated sufficiently by public schooling to make him susceptible to the evil siren song of Rock Music. Starting with his sisters ancient copies of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" and KISS: Alive, LB began traveling down a long, twisted road from which he has shown no desire to turn. The first concert Lou attended was Black Sabbath at New York's legendary Madison Square Garden where he culminated the evening by downing an entire bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Wine and then throwing up all over his childhood friend Carlos Sanchez. Carlos grew up to become one of California's most renowned microbrewers (and the inspiration behind Lou-in-Brau Beer and Brew Loutus Ale) although he refuses to give Brutus a drop citing Lou's long ago Technicolor Yawn on his person.
By the age of twelve LB had become a regular on the concert scene in New York City and Philadelphia cutting his teeth on bands like KISS, The Ramones, Cheap Trick, The Clash, AC/DC, Van Halen, Motorhead, Aerosmith, The Dead Kennedys, and Frank Zappa. Lou would form friendships with many of these artists in the years to come, writing liner notes for Zappa and actually having Eddie Van Halen name a side project after him (The Lou Brutus Experience). Since then Brutus has attended over 2000 concerts, seeing virtually every major and minor recording entity of the last fifteen years.
Besides going to concerts Brutus spent his high school days avoiding homework and earning money at the nearby Englishtown Auction flea market (where he sold black light posters of large breasted women). Lou also became active in his school's theatre program where he feels his finest moment came while starring in the production of "Dracula." Some would argue, however, that LB's greatest moment in high school theatre was getting laid onstage, during class hours (behind an enormous movie screen) while over five hundred of his classmates watched a film about highway safety on the other side.
Following high school it was time for college where Brutus once allegedly attended class. While academics didn't make his list of importance the college radio station did. Taking any shift he could get his vocal chords on, LB dove into the diverse free form nature of the station playing Hard Core Punk, Techno, Big Band, Thrash, Comedy, Experimental, Blues, Metal, Bluegrass, Jazz, Hillbilly Yodeling, and any other style of music that existed. Lou ended up getting a unique sonic education he would not have gotten under most other circumstances. Brutus' only regret from his college radio days is that he still can't say the station's call letters W-BJ-B without snickering.
It was during his college radio time that Lou, working as a soundman at a local concert hall, ran into Rod Carson. Carson, of Philadelphia's legendary rock station WMMR, was among the growing legions of fans of Brutus' college radio work and arranged a meeting for Lou to interview for an internship. Lou got the internship and became the first intern in the stations 20+ years to join the airstaff. Since those humble beginnings LB has gone on to be the very first to give airplay to some of the best bands in Rock including Slipknot, Sevendust, Limp Bizkit, Stone Sour, System of A Down, Korn and Tool. You can read the rest of the (sordid) details of Brutus' radio career in the Shit He's Done and Where the Hell Wuz He sections.
Lou Brutus lives out of a suitcase traveling the world to bring his listeners the finest in interviews and concert coverage. He has lots of hobbies that you wouldn't be interested in and a family that makes fun of him because he threw up every Thanksgiving after eating too much and then playing football. He has never, ever wanted to do anything but be on the radio, listen to music, and go to concerts.

The Metal Tyrant- Paul Weston Bio
To understand just how die hard 'The Metal Tyrant' is we must first understand his early childhood interest in heavy metal music. The year was 1986 at the age of 11, a new friend turned him onto bands like BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and AC/DC. Before beginning high school in 1989 he discovered the Thrash Metal movement of bands like METALLICA, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX and SLAYER. From there his life never changed as a raging metalhead. Being exposed to everything from Thrash, Black and Death Metal before leaving high school in 1993. He knew full well that he didn't possess the talent to be in a band of his own. He discovered college radio while still in high school, and it was then that 'The Metal Tyrant' found his calling...
'The Metal Tyrant's' career in radio began in 1992 while still in high school in which he spun some of his favorite metal tracks while annoying his then teacher with the music he was playing. He would later volunteer on college radio @ WKNH in Keene, NH in 1997 where he began with a program called 'Beyond The Grave'. It was there where he sharpened his skills of radio broadcasting for the next 10 years. Burnt out by the scene in Keene, NH he relocated to Burlington, VT with the intention of taking a break from college radio. That break would only last 3 months as his desire to wave the flag of heavy metal grew stronger. He began his next chapter in college radio with WWPV @ St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT with a program called Powersurge. This chapter lasted just over a year before his big break would come, by the way of 102.3 THE WIRE. The Champlain Valley's biggest rock station! Throughout his nearly 15 year career in radio, 'The Metal Tyrant' has seen many bands come and go but one thing has remained certain...METAL WILL NEVER DIE!!!
